We, as Domestic Energy Assessors (DEA's) do this by conducting assessments to identify areas where homes are losing energy and providing recommendations for home energy improvements.

THE GREEN TARGET
The green target for retrofitting homes is to achieve net-zero emissions by improving energy efficiency and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
REDUCE ENERGY CONSUMPTION
A major aim is to significantly reduce the amount of energy a home consumes, with some targets aiming for 60-80% reduction in the average UK home.
HOW?
Improve Building Fabric: measures like insulation (roof, walls, floors), high-performance glazing, and addressing air leaks to minimise heat loss to improve energy retention and reduce energy bills.
Switch to Renewable Energy: replacing gas boilers with heat pumps and installing solar panels are key steps to generate and use renewable energy, reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
